FS and Consumer Associations sign Memorandum of Understanding

Dialogue and frequent meetings at the heart of actions

The road to of dialogue and synergy between FS Italiane and the world of Consumer Associations continues. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today at Ferrovie dello Stato's headquarters in Villa Patrizi in Rome to strengthen the relationship of mutual collaboration between FS and the Consumer Associations, also in relation to the FS Italiane Group's 2022/2031 Business Plan.

The objectives of the Agreement were illustrated in a meeting attended by the FS Group's CEO Luigi Ferraris, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane's Chief Corporate Affairs, Massimo Bruno, and Consumer Association representatives. One of the main points of the agreement is FS's commitment to the Associations in terms of dialogue, comparison and collaboration understood as elements of added value in the decision-making processes, as well as in the organisation of frequent meetings aimed at promoting the exchange of useful information to identify collective needs related to FS’ activities, fostering the dialogue with the pertinent institutional bodies, the Companies and the FS Group Hubs (Infrastructure, Passenger, Logistics and Urban) where necessary.

The actions to be implemented in the process outlined by the Memorandum of Understanding include attention to joint initiatives for the communication and promotion of social, economic and environmental sustainability; the study and analysis of solutions for the improvement of service quality through the involvement of the concerned Group Companies; information on the objectives of the FS Group Business Plan and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) in the context of national mobility.

The meetings that will follow between the Consumer Associations and Ferrovie dello Stato representatives will take place through the establishment of a permanent Steering Committee, convened on a quarterly basis or when required by the Parties. The Steering Committee may be supported by working groups composed of representatives of FS companies based on the business area covered by the topics to be discussed.

The initiative announced today follows several meetings that have allowed to forge a fruitful circuit of mutual collaboration between FS Italiane and Associations belonging to different categories.
