To mark the occasion of students returning to school tomorrow, on 15 September, a new Rock train will enter service on the tracks of Tuscany. This is the 10th train out of the 29 Rocks destined for the region.
For tomorrow, the new train will also conduct two school services on the Florence-Pisa line.
The train will depart from Empoli at 7:16 in the morning and head to the Firenze SMN station, then travel from Firenze SMN at 1:16 pm to reach Pisa Centrale.
In addition to the new Rock train and in agreement with the Prefectures and the Transport Department of the Tuscany Region, Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group) has planned a series of extraordinary activities for the resumption of the school year.
In addition to varying the composition of certain trains in accordance with the estimated demand, in support of the regular offering, trains have been prepared to be ready to depart from the stations of Montevarchi, Empoli, Pistoia and Prato in the event of unexpected crowding.
18 extraordinary buses in support of the school trains on the Empoli-Siena, Firenze-Borgo San Lorenzo, Firenze-Faenza, Lucca-Aulla and Siena-Chiusi lines.
Additional buses, ready to go into service in the event of overcrowding beyond the number forecast, await in the stations of Siena, Castelfiorentino, Grosseto, Pontassieve, Borgo San Lorenzo, San Piero a Sieve, Firenze, Empoli, Cecina, Prato, Lucca, Piazza al Serchio, Castelnuovo Garfagnana and Faenza.
Assistance personnel will be present in the stations of: Pistoia, Asciano Monte Oliveto, Rufina, Fornaci di Barga, Borgo a Mozzano, Montecatini Terme, Prato Centrale, Pescia, Empoli, Castelfiorentino, Poggibonsi, Firenze San Marco Vecchio and Montevarchi.
To note is that on all journeys, the occupancy set by the regulations in force is 80% of total places (seated and standing).
