Rome 5 December 2018
Italian FS Group puts lot C1 Roma Tiburtina up for sale.
The area, about 7,200 square meters, is adjacent to the Nomentano entrance of the station and is included in the urban regeneration plan. The notice provides for a gross floor area for a receptive use of 12,000 square meters (starting price 12,450,000 euro) and a gross floor area for commercial use of 7,000 square metres (starting price 7,250,000 euros).
Bids must be submitted by noon on 15 March 2019.
Notice was given today in the Rome Tiburtina station by Gianfranco Battisti, CEO Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, Umberto Lebruto, CEO FS Sistemi Urbani, and Maurizio Gentile, Managing Director, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana. Also in attendance were Luigi Abete, President of BNL, Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi, and Gian Marco Centinaio, Minister of agriculture, food, forestry, and tourism.
The sale of lot C1 is curated by FS Sistemi Urbani, an FS Italiane Group company, whose purpose is the development and marketing of FS areas no longer functional for railway operations, on behalf Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and with the technical-administrative assistance of Ferservizi.
FS Sistemi Urbani particularly looks after the development of urban planning, and the development and marketing of building lots. In Rome Tiburtina the first lot was sold to BNL, which has already opened its new national headquarters, and the second to La Sapienza University, which intends to build research laboratories on the lot.
Lot C1, located adjacent to the Nomentano entrance of the station on the west side, faces the train/subway/bus interchange, and is in a strategic position ideal for a hotel and commercial properties.
To best represent the potential of the area, FS Sistemi Urbani asked three young architects to develop their own concept for the C1 lot.
The concepts suggest development interventions capable of regenerating the neighbourhood through new public and private spaces, capable of transforming these places into meeting and exchange points and promoting resident and traveller socializing.
The three visions and a photographic exhibition on the Tiburtina area are on display at the station until 7 December (from 9 am to 6 pm).
The FS Italiane Group and Roma Capitale have embarked on an important urban regeneration path around the transport hub of the Roma Tiburtina station, with the construction of new public infrastructures and modern strategic functions.
The Rome Tiburtina C1 roadshow is a fundamental step in a wider process launched by the FS Italiane Group to enhance the real estate assets that develop around the interchange nodes, contributing to urban regeneration as an opportunity to rethink and redesign cities.
