This portal is available at Milan Central, Milan Porta Garibaldi and Rho Fiera Expo Milano 2015 Stations

Milan, 9 May 2015

Over 3,500 registered users and over 50 thousand visits.

These are the figures for the first week of WiFi Station, the virtual portal for stations made available to passengers, railway companies and economic operators at Milan Central, Milan Porta Garibaldi and Rho Fiera Expo Milano 2015 Stations as of 1 May.

Italians stood out among the thousands of users who registered for this service (over 60% of overall users), followed by English (31%) and Spanish (5%) users.

WiFi station is a prompt and user-friendly Wi-Fi network that on the one hand provides Wi-Fi connection in stations and, on the other hand, services and useful information in a single web environment.

The objective of WiFi Station is to improve the experience of train passengers at every stage of their journey and ensure that customers are “central”.

The main services and features entailed in WiFi Station:

  • Internet: access to the web;

  • multilingual information: available in eight languages at the same time: Italian, English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Russian;

  • in stations: localisation of services available in stations;

  • arrival and departure boards: train departure/arrival timetables by station;

  • passenger services: access to apps and websites to help journeys (“Pronto Treno”, “ViaggiaTreno”, FSNews Radio and Trainscovery) or relating to Milan Expo 2015 (Expo and Territories);

  • outside stations: points of interest;

  • shopping: stores inside stations;

  • social profile integration: the chance to share news or events;
