"Giubileo" is the title of the special monograph of the series "L'Italia del treno" the editorial initiative of the Fondazione FS Italiane, in collaboration with the Edizioni La Freccia In Regione.
The monograph collects a series of exclusive photos, taken from the historical archives of Fondazione FS Italiane, which depict the train trips of the popes from World War II and onwards.
"Italia del treno" is a collection of monographs dealing with a monothematic theme: from historical trains to related trades, from memories in black and white to the great works, but also a "voyage through time", tracing back longer than 175 years, to discover the treasures of the National Railway Museum in Pietrarsa, one of the major exhibition areas of the country.
The goal of the editorial initiative is the enhancing of these types of images with a unique heritage. A vast photographic and audiovisual heritage: inside of the Italian FS Foundation's archives, you can find more than 500 thousand photographs and 3 thousand films.
