WCRR 2019

The WCRR—World Congress on Railway Research—is the most important international event for the railway sector. Founded by the main European and non-European railway operators—including Trenitalia—it is dedicated to technical research and development. The interlocutors are railway undertakings and research institutes.

The 2019 edition will run from 28 October to 1 November in Tokyo, where engineers, researchers and managers shall meet to share innovative and technological ideas to propose to experts in the field, hailing from all over the world.

In three sessions, the meeting will tackle:

• The role of railway operators in improving the customer experience;
• The contribution of suppliers in the industry in increasing the value of railways;
• Research and development into the railways of the future.

Taking part as a speaker at the opening ceremony held at the Tokyo International Forum on 28 October as speaker is Gianluigi Castelli, Chairman of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group and President of the Union Internationale des Chemins de Fer.
