After the success of its last edition, the Festival of Sustainable Development returns from 22nd May to 7th June 2018 with hundreds of events throughout Italy, spreading the culture of sustainability and mobilising Italian society on the UN Agenda 2030. Not only professionals, but also citizens, businesses, local administrations, and civil society will be called upon to discuss issues of economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
The initiative, organised by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) with the collaboration of FS Italiane, takes place over a period of 17 days, as many days as the Sustainable Development Goals envisaged by the 2030 Agenda.
"Italy 2030 - Innovate, redevelop, invest, transform: ten years to create a sustainable Italy" will be the opening event of the Festival and will be held on 22nd May at the Maxxi Auditorium in Rome. Organised by the Secretariat of ASviS, the conference will focus on economic, institutional, and social innovation and on the need for vast redevelopment of tangible and intangible infrastructure for a real transformation of the current model of development.
Two other events will directly be organised by ASviS: "SDGs, Climate and the Future of Europe", an international meeting to discuss the future of Europe and sustainability, which will take place on 31st May at the UniCredit Pavilion in Milan; and the closing event of the Festival, to be held on 7th June in Rome in the presence of high level State officials.
