Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane is ready to invest in young engineers by providing scholarships for vocational training of the highest level, thanks to the support of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

The 12th edition of the Specialized Master’s Degree in Infrastructure Engineering and Railway Systems, which will start in January of 2016, was presented today at the Faculty of Engineering of the Sapienza, in presence of Dean Fabrizio Vestroni and the Director of the Master Gabriele Malvasi.

With regard to our Group, the Director of Human Resources and Organization,  Stefano Savino, was present, along with the CEO of  Italferr, Matteo Maria Triglia, as well as the Heads of the RFI and Trenitalia’s technical departments, Donato Carillo and Marco Caposciutti , and the Head of Technical Railway Italcertifer, Raffaele Mele.

The master’s programme, organized by the University of Rome "La Sapienza", in collaboration with the Italian State Railways Group, Rome’s Underground Railway System, Almaviva, Bombardier, Ansaldo Breda, Ansaldo STS and the Ferrotramviaria Company, is aimed at graduates and specialized undergraduates in engineering, who plan to complete their studies by 18 November 2015.

The Italian State Railways Group, Bombardier, the Ferrotramviaria company and Sapienza offer scholarships of €1,800 (euro) for the first 10 students admitted to the master’s programme (5 of which are reserved for the first 5 women ranked), €1,500 and €1,800 for the next 10 to 15 graduates residing outside of the Lazio Region for at least six months. 

The registration fee for the master’s programme is €3,000.

In 2015, the State Railways Group qualified, in first place (Best Employer of Choice 2015), among the most sought after companies by new graduates looking for a job.

The commitment of the master’s  programme is full time, lasting for a period of seven months (January to July 2015), with the possibility of alternating lectures to visits to construction sites and plants, field experience and conferring with Italian State Railways Group managers as well as those of other companies.

At the end of the training course, an internship will be provided by partner companies to field-test acquired classroom skills and the presentation of a project with the support of a company tutor and the tutor of the University itself.

The application form must be submitted by Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., 18 November 2015, exclusively on-line.
