No repercussions on train circulation
A passenger train coming from Trieste and bound for Monfalcone stopped due to a fault in the middle of the line. The relevant emergency procedures were activated, as well as the request for cooperation from the Civil Defence Service, by placing a call to the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Operations Room, which activated a team of volunteers to deliver water bottles.
This was the scenario of the Civil Defence Service drill that took place in the night between Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 June, near Santa Croce, on the Trieste - Venice railway line, organised by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and FS Security (FS Group), with the participation of the Prefecture of Trieste, the Trenitalia Regional Department, the Civil Defence Service of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Police Department.
Common objective was verifying the emergency procedures, including the activation of Civil Defence Service volunteers in relation to the provisions of the Agreement between the FS Group and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Civil Defence Service. Particular attention was paid to verifying the effectiveness and speed of the communication flow and the coordination system between the entities involved, as well as to familiarising them with the railway infrastructure, particularly with regard to the intervention methods.
The drill is part of the FS Group's Civil Defence Service Drill Plan for the year 2025.
No repercussions on train circulation.
