Volunteers in more than 400 Italian squares on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2015

The FS Italiane Group is working alongside the Civil Protection Service to promote “Io non Rischio” (I don’t risk), the information campaign on the best civil protection practices promoted by the Civil Protection Department, Anpas-Associazione Nazionale Pubbliche Assistenze (National Public Assistance Association), Ingv-Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (National Geophysical and Volcanology Institute) and Reluis-Rete dei Laboratori Universitari di Ingegneria Sismica (Seismic Engineering University Laboratory Network).

The FS Italiane Group media will carry the campaign messages, which will involve 4,.000 volunteers in more than 400 Italian squares, to help citizens become more aware of possible natural risks that can strike Italy, illustrating what it is important to know and what to do before, during and after a flood, an earthquake or a tidal wave.

The basic idea of the campaign is to transform volunteer work into an extraordinary instrument for transmitting the best civil protection practices.

The “Io non rischio” campaign was started in 2011 to make the population more aware of seismic risks. Ispra-Istituto superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research), Ogs-Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale (National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics), AiPo-Agenzia Interregionale per il fiume Po (Inter-regional Agency for the River Po), Arpa Emilia-Romagna, Autorità di Bacino del fiume Arno (River Arno Basin Authority), CamiLab-Università della Calabria (Calabria University), Fondazione Cima and Irpi-Istituto di ricerca per la Protezione idro-geologica (Hydrogeological Protection research institute) then became involved when tidal waves and flooding were added.
