The project involves the construction of a non-electrified single track line of approximately 3.4 km which, starting from the historic line near the Olbia Terranova station, arrives at the Costa Smeralda Airport where a new station will be built connected to the airport terminal by dedicated pedestrian path.
The project also involves the construction of a single track link road approximately 0.9 km long, non-electrified, to allow connections to the new airport station also in the direction of Chilivani.
The project has received complete public funding, including NRRP funds.
Roberto Pagone was appointed Extraordinary Governmental Commissioner for completion of the works.
Advantages
The work will allow to intercept both the flows to/from the airport and the systematic movements that gravitate in the area made up of the Municipalities of Olbia and Golfo Aranci.
