Today, the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Board of Directors has appointed a new Trenitalia Board of Directors.
The new BoD, which will be appointed within the next Trenitalia shareholders’ meeting, is composed by Tiziano Onesti – confirmed as Chairman -, Orazio Iacono as CEO and Chief Operating Officer, Paolo Colombo, Antonella D’Andrea – new Director - and Maria Rosaria Maugeri.
The Trenitalia Board of Directors, in charge since the 21st of December 2015, has performed all the requested tasks in order to reorganise the company consistently with the growth of national and international passenger and cargo rail transport, one of the pillar of the FS Group Industrial Plan.
The positive results achieved by Barbara Morgante in the last two years in Trenitalia are an example of success.
These activities include the spin-off of the Cargo Division – with the establishment of the Mercitalia Hub on the 1st of January 2017 – and the international operations such as the establishment of Trenitalia UK and acquisition of the c2c franchise.
Barbara Morgante will be appointed as the FS Italiane Group’s Head of Foreign Subsidiaries Governance, to manage the growth of the Group’s international business in accordance with the pillars of the FS Italiane 2017-2026 industrial plan.
In the role of Foreign Subsidiaries Governance Office, Barbara Morgante, thanks to her extensive business experience will ensure the integration of the 6 foreign companies, owned by the FS Group, according to our values and practices.
The new BoD, with the appointment of Orazio Iacono, currently the Regional Passengers Division Manager, as well as member of the Busitalia BoD, strengthen the FS Italiane Group’s focus on the integrated mobility growth with the focus in metropolitan areas.
The first meeting of the new Trenitalia board of directors is scheduled in the upcoming days after the shareholders’ meeting appointement.
