These the themes faced by the President Gioia Ghezzi and the CEO of the Gruppo FS Italiane Renato Mazzoncini during the appointments in Strasbourg in the last days.
The leadership of gruppo FS Italiane has met the European Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc, and the President of of the Transports Commission, Michael Cramer.
The first meetings in Strasbourg of the top management can be seen as an opportunity to get to the point also with Italian MEPs.
A delegation led by the Vice Presidents David Sassoli and Antonio Tajani received the President and the CEO of Ferrovie.
As conclusion of these meetings, the last one with Gianni Pittella, President of the Socialists and Democrats group of the European Parliament.
During the meetings, Ghezzi and Mazzoncini stressed on the need of a a single European railway market, really deregulated, without restrictions to access the networks of each country and that, as soon as possible, allows all EU countries to have tenders for services of bus and rail local public transport.
They also stressed on the fact that during transition to the single market, the principle of reciprocity must be observed.
A market that, thanks to the creation of an European regulator, will not have any technical and administrative barriers that often prevent the liberalization process.
