The Ferrovie dello Stato Board of Directors met this afternoon and definitively approved the operation to break up Grandi Stazioni.
This operation entails dividing activities currently carried out by Grandi Stazioni through creation of two new companies and a change in name for Grandi Stazioni SpA:
Grandi Stazioni Retail to focus on traditionally commercial activities for network stations - including two stations in the Czech Republic – especially in relation to commercial leases, Media & Advertising and passenger services, identified as the company to privatise;
Grandi Stazioni Rail (currently Grandi Stazioni) to focus on infrastructures and completing the investment plan to thereby ensure management of key in-station businesses for passengers and all those working there: security, cleaning and maintenance, rail company ticket offices, car parks, office leases and engineering;
Grandi Stazioni Immobiliare to focus on managing property currently owned by Grandi Stazioni.
