Luigi Ferraris, CEO of the FS Italiane Group, received the Guido Carli Prize, now in its 13th edition.
The CEO has declared being honoured to receive this prestigious award “because it is founded on the values of meritocracy and teamwork, the same values that characterise the daily commitment of the Group’s 80,000-plus people. Each day we work to promote the ecological and digital transition of the country, through green and integrated mobility, with the aim of producing shared value and benefits for the economy, industry and tourism.”
This is a special edition since, as CEO Luigi Ferraris has pointed out, it falls on the 30th anniversary of the Maastricht Treaty, a historic step for Europe that Guido Carli – as former Governor of the Bank of Italy and then as Treasury Minister, negotiated and signed on behalf of Italy. “Guido Carli was a forerunner and staunch supporter of the European project. Today, the FS Italian Group is one of the leading players in Europe in the evolution of the railway market. Europe has definitely opened railway competition and the FS Group companies are present and operating successfully in several countries, including France, Greece, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain.”
The award, this year dedicated to the recently-deceased war correspondent Massimo Dell’Omo and husband of President Romana Liuzzo, was presented by the panel composed of CEOs, top managers, entrepreneurs and editors, with Gianni Letta as Honorary Chair.
