Toronto, 10th May 2018
Today the two-day Canadian Women's Forum 2018 began. The event was born to support a gender perspective and to influence the agenda of the 2018 G7 Summit by sharing best practices and success stories from relevant women and men. Responding to the call for a more inclusive future - the initiative's motto is Bridging the gap: A call to the G7 for inclusive progress- are more than 600 delegates from 85 countries worldwide.
The Forum sessions will not only focus on gender issues and the role of the private sector in promoting inclusiveness; but also on the #Metoo movement and increasing investments for female-led companies. Time will also be spent reflecting on respecting the environment through interventions on urban planning and technological innovation in relation to its social implications. Among the selected speakers is Gioia Ghezzi, President of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, who will address the theme of Smart Cities that are able to reduce environmental impacts in concrete and measurable terms.
Representing FS Italiane Group will be a large delegation of top female managers including Claudia Cattani, President of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI); Carlotta Ventura, Central Director of Brand Strategy and Communication; Barbara Morgante, Director of Central Governance and Foreign Participation; and Elisabetta Scosceria, Director General Counsel, Corporate Affairs and Compliance.
The FS Group Italiane delegation at the Women's Forum will address issues relating to the development of female leadership and gender diversity as key determinants for economic and social growth.
Key topics discussed during the many sessions of the Women's Forum will be gathered and later addressed in the G7 Summit agenda scheduled for the 8th and 9th of June in Charlevoix, Quebec, and aid in immediately putting in place coherent and inclusive gender policies.
