This event was organised by LUISS Enlabs – “La fabbrica delle startup” – and Codemotion, promoted by Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, Atac, the Department for Mobility and Transport and Roma Servizi per la Mobilità, dedicated to coders from throughout Italy who faced the challenge by developing applications and projects to optimise the quality of mobility in Rome and the region of Lazio.
The challenges entailed in this contest:
This event was won by “Urbango”, a team from Rome responsible for developing an application that can be used to minimise downtimes and discover how many passengers there are on buses. This project was one of 23 presented by the 130 participants in this initiative.
Gruppo FS Italiane awarded an app called EasyRailas, once developed, it aims to make rail travel easier and more laid-back for users with reduced mobility.
The idea of EasyRail is to allow users to book both train tickets and assistance in stations with just one click. Furthermore, a special chat feature in this application ensures that users can interact with station staff and other passengers on the same train - “RailAngels” – who can provide assistance and take advantage of a reward system through which they can collect points.
