Elis' Open Italy event - now in its 10th edition - witnessed the presentation of numerous trials developed by member companies, including RFI, Italferr, FS Logistix and Anas, with the support of FS Group’s Innovation. During 24 and 25 February, the solutions, developed over 12 weeks, were presented in collaboration with multiple innovative start-ups/SMEs
The trials on display
Anas:
- WebGIS platform (Gisky): monitoring data integration for advanced infrastructure analysis.
- Satellite data optimisation (TITAN4): improving road design and maintenance through Earth Observation.
Italferr:
- Artificial intelligence for anomaly detection (Grid+): archaeological checks speed up.
- Internal document management (B4Tech): "Corporate Wikipedia" with semantic search.
- Blockchain for infrastructure certifications (Flowbe): digital and secure management of railway infrastructure certifications.
- AI platform for document compliance (HPA): easy access to corporate information.
- AI tool (RUMA): plant species selection and biodiversity monitoring.
Mercitalia:
- Automatic railway wagon co-ordination (OMNIA): graphical fleet display and real-time monitoring.
- Virtual Reality training (DILIUM): for the technical inspection of railway wagons, improving safety and access to vehicles.
- Smart glasses for field inspections (TransTec Services): interactive remote support.
RFI:
- AI system and optical devices (Laser Navigation): tracking access to railway installations, even in difficult scenarios.
- Intelligent sensors for water hazards (Artys): prevention and early warning.
- Digital health and safety platform (Life Charger): AI Analysis for Business Decisions in a Integrated Workplace Health Protection and Promotion logic.
- Hydrogeological monitoring with cloud-based satellite analysis (WASDI): preventing damage to railway infrastructure and minimising the impact on railway operations.
- Remote control for water consumption monitoring (BlackBox Green): smart device integrating a Smart Valve and a digital meter for the remote management of water utilities for industrial use by associating their use to a specific user.
- Augmented reality warehouse navigation (Start Smart AR): 'Mixed Reality' to improve instrumentation and space management, and facilitate orientation in laboratories, workshops and warehouses.
On this occasion, the FS Group received the coveted Impact Award for Business 2024, a significant recognition for its commitment to innovation and sustainability. This award underlines the FS Group's focus on the key objectives of the 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, including:
