FS Italiane with Palazzo Strozzi for the exhibition “Yan Pei-Ming – Painting Histories”

Florence, 7 July 2023

The FS Group joins Palazzo Strozzi for the occasion of the exhibition Yan Pei-Ming – Painting Histories, being held in Florence from 7 July to 3 September. Personal images of the artist, newspaper covers, film stills or famous works forming the history of art will accompany visitors in an exploration of genres, including portrait, landscape, still life and historic painting, through works that come to life from the model of photographic images, extrapolated from various sources.

For the event, FS Italiane together with Trenitalia, the leading company of the Passenger Business Unit, will allow visitors to comfortably reach the Tuscan capital by train, taking advantage of special discounts. CartaFreccia members in possession of a Frecce ticket with Florence as destination and dated no more than five days before the date of the exhibition visit will be able to access the event with two admissions for the price of one.

There will also be a special reduction for individual travellers on Frecce trains who are CartaFreccia members, for Intercity passengers, for those using regional transport in Tuscany (upon presentation of a valid monthly or annual ticket) or those in possession of a one-way ticket to Florence valid for the day of access to the exhibition.

Frecce customers also receive a discount on gifts and publishing products available in the Bookshop in Palazzo Strozzi.

The exhibition – the largest ever dedicated to the Franco-Chinese artist – offers a profound and passionate reflection on painting today. Elements such as history and contemporaneity, famous works of art, public figures and intimate subjects come together on Yan Pei-Ming’s monumental canvases, for an exhibition that offers an important key to understanding the artist’s research into the relationship between image and reality.

In supporting the exhibition Yan Pei-Ming – Painting Histories, the FS Group renews its historic collaboration with Palazzo Strozzi in Florence and confirms its commitment to prestigious Italian and international culture events, whilst promoting the mobility of visitors and enthusiasts with frequent, sustainable and broad-reaching long-haul and regional connections. This is a natural calling for a company that has been firmly rooted in the artistic, tourism, civil and economic fabric of Italy for over a century.
