Trenitalia Umbria: school transport starts back up

21,000 spots offered on regional trains in the morning school timeframe

Perugia, 13 September 2021

Also in Umbria, the regional trains of Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group) are at the ready for the resumption of school activities in complete safety.

The approximately 21,000 places offered on the trains travelling throughout the region in the peak morning period, perfect for travelling to school, allow for the adequate reception of passenger flows, in compliance with the 80% occupancy limit on total approved places (seated and standing) set by current regulations.

In the weeks preceding the 2021 return to school, regional season ticket sales showed an upturn of 7% in Umbria compared to the same period for 2020.

In addition, the mobility streams are monitored in real time, so as to be able to promptly take action in the event of any peaks in turnout, with the support of substitute buses.

Customer assistance has been strengthened during school entry/exit times, in particular in the stations of Perugia and Perugia Ponte San Giovanni.
