Rome, 23 September 2019
Today, Gianfranco Battisti—Chief Executive Officer of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane—met with Dario Scannapieco—Vice-Chairman of the European Investment Bank in Rome.
At the heart of discussions is the green projects that the FS Group will develop with its 2019-2023 Business Plan, in the name of social, economic and environmental sustainability, and the possibility of the EIB being the right financial institution to cooperate in their implementation.
The FS Business Plan is known for its green and sustainable investments and aligns perfectly with the interests of the EIB, a pioneer institution for sustainable finance and historically close to the activities of the FS Group in financing new infrastructure and purchasing trains.
The specialist teams of FS and EIB will thus work in the coming months to determine a large number of investments ready to be financed according to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) logics, paying attention to the ethical aspects and social and environmental responsibility of the projects.
