Orazio Iacono, CEO of Trenitalia, appointed Vice-president of Unindustria

Delegation to “Infrastructures for Transport and Logistics”

Orazio Iacono, CEO and General Manager of Trenitalia, was unanimously appointed as Vice-president of Unindustria by the General Council, under the chairmanship of Filippo Tortoriello, during today’s meeting held at the Roman headquarters of the Union of Industrialists of Lazio.

Orazio Iacono, who takes over the associative position of Barbara Morgante, strengthens the team of the Association’s Vice-presidents with the strategic delegation to Filippo Tortoriello’s presidency programme for “Transport and Logistics Infrastructure”.

“The delegation for transport and logistics infrastructure is one of the fundamental drivers of my presidency and one of the central themes for the competitiveness and growth of our Region”, states Filippo Tortoriello, President of Unindustria. “The management of such a delicate delegation could only be assigned to someone like Engineer Orazio Iacono who represents the most important Italian establishment for this fundamental sector in our economy. I personally, together with the entire General Council, welcome Orazio Iacono to our team and thank Barbara Morgante for the important and fruitful work done in recent years as Vice-president with the “Infrastructure for Transport and Logistics” delegation.

Orazio Iacono, with a Civil Engineering degree, has developed consolidated experience in the field of infrastructure and transport, tasked with increasing responsibility in the FS Group since 1993, until taking over the position of CEO and General Manager of Trenitalia in September 2017. Iacono is also President of the company TrainOSE, a railway operator under Greek law that is 100% controlled by Italian State Railways, which provides passenger and freight transport services in Greece.
