Berlin, 26 April 2017

Busitalia Fast has been launched as the new integrated transport service that propels the FS Italiane Group into the domestic and international medium and long-distance road transport market.

The aim is to offer a high-quality service, and one that is innovative, safe, distinctive and better than the other operators working in the sector.

Busitalia Fast will link 15 Italian regions and over 90 cities in Italy and Germany with a fleet of 60 latest-generation buses (the oldest is three years old).

The new services will be of a high quality and will include advanced levels of safety, highly-qualified personnel, buses equipped with every comfort (air conditioning, electric sockets and USB outlets, Wi-Fi, reclining chairs, ample leg room and onboard toilets) and environmental features (low PM10 and NOx emissions). Busitalia Fast will also offer integration with other means of transport, more connections and service flexibility, new connection planning, rapid sales channels which are innovative and are integrated with the latest customer experience models (trip planning, seat availability, integrated ticketing, connection with economy sharing systems).

Busitalia Fast is a service by Busitalia Simet, the new integrated mobility company which has arisen from the purchase by Busitalia-Sita Nord – FS Italiane Group’s bus transport company – of 51% of Simet, a long-established company which has been providing long-distance bus services in Italy and abroad since 1946.

With Busitalia Fast – explains Stefano Rossi, Managing Director of Busitalia-Sita Nord – we are aiming to become the main player in Europe in long-haul road transport services. These are services that are registering a lot of interest and continual growth in demand. Over the next three years – continues Rossi – an increase in the number of links is programmed, both at a national and an international level. This will also be in synergy with other FS Italiane Group transport companies, and fits perfectly with the fundamental aim of integrated mobility contained in FS Italiane’s 2017-2026 Industrial Plan”.

Simet has had long-distance routes as its core business for over 70 years – says Mariella De Florio, Managing Director of Simet. “The strategic and important partnership with FS Italiane Group’s Busitalia-Sita Nord is aimed at creating an integrated network of transport services at a national and European level. That is our industrial objective. Busitalia Simet”, concludes De Florio “will mean increasing the quantity and quality of connections through new links, together with the purchase of new buses, which will obviously mean the creation of new jobs”.
