Gruppo FS Italiane engineering and certification companies Italferr and Italcertifer respectively, are planning to participate together in the 6th edition of Eurasia Rail, one of the most prestigious international trade fairs in the world in terms of infrastructure, logistics and rolling stock, which is scheduled to take place in Istanbul, starting from today to until Saturday, 5 March.
More than 6,000 visitors from 68 different countries, around the world, visited the exhibition during the last edition.
Italferr has been present in Turkey since 2013, with its feasibility and design study, both preliminary and final, regarding the approximately 27 km connection from the Esenboga Airport and the Turkish capital.
In 2014, it also took over the supervision of the work and the revision of the prestigious project for the roughly 15 km-long Eurasia Tunnel; 3.4 km of which is below sea level, at a depth of 25 metres.
This is the tunnel that will cross the Bosphorus Strait, connecting the European side of Istanbul with the Asian one.
However, Italcertifer has been operating quite successfully in Turkey since 2010, with the certification of the High-Speed line between Ankara and Konya, and Central Anatolia, as well as numerous conventional lines with speeds up to 200 km/h.
In December 2015, Italcertifer also concluded the important undertaking of checking the compatibility of the new Siemens Velaro train, purchased by Turkish Railways TCDD, with the infrastructure of the Polatli - Konya High-Speed line and the suitability of the infrastructure itself at the operating speed of 300 km/h.
