Today, 25 November, marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women first held on 17 December 1999 by the United Nations General Assembly. This event offers an important opportunity to inform and raise awareness amongst the public regarding this phenomenon that continues to an alarming extent each year (according to data from the Italian National Institute of Statistics).
To recall that violence against women is a problem that affects us all, the headquarters of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane in Piazza della Croce Rossa in Rome, along with those of Italferr, Anas and Ferservizi, will be illuminated this evening in red, the colour of the shoes that have become a symbol of the fight against femicide.
The FS Group is constantly committed to countering any discriminatory or harmful attitude or behaviour against the individual, spreading the values of inclusiveness and diversity, as evidenced by Gianfranco Battisti, CEO and GD of the Group, being appointed by the European Commission as European Ambassador for diversity.
