The Asia Pacific Rail, one of Asia’s leading trade fairs dedicated to rail and mobility generally, was held from 10 to 12 November.
Due to the severe health crisis owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was organised in virtual mode for the first time ever. It was a new challenge that nonetheless ensured the maximum participation of exhibitors and companies interested in developing collaborations, allowing a broad sharing of information and beneficial discussions on specific topics.
The event focused on industry trends, showing the transforming effects of digitisation and innovation, directing the field towards more efficient and effective mobility.
180 international speakers and a plethora of managers and representatives from the world’s leading railway companies focused on five macro areas:
Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane took an active part with a number of Group companies:
Moreover, thanks to its virtual stand, FS Italiane also promoted several Group companies that are not directly engaged in the Asian area: Mercitalia, with a descriptive video of the Mercitalia Fast service, the only one of its kind in the world; Busitalia, with a video that summarises the offering delivered through the various means of transport complementary to the train; FSTEchnology, with a brochure describing its products and services. In the same context, in the field of Safety and Security, a video was proposed on the Box Drone, an innovative modular platform designed to house and manage drones and of great use in activities to verify track safety.
The presentation of the characteristics and the offering of the FS Group was enhanced by the Company Profile video and brochure, as well as a Virtual Booth Tour through which a 360-degree panoramic view was shown of what would have been the stand in real life.
The material shared and rendered available to the parties concerned included three short videos recorded by the ambassadors Vincenzo De Luca (New Delhi, India), Lorenzo Galanti (Bangkok, Thailand) and Francesca Tardioli (Canberra, Australia). Operating in the three eastern areas in which the Group nurtures the most interest, they highlighted FS’ competence and professionalism, emphasising its potential to contribute to the development of rail projects in their respective countries.
The initiative received an excellent response from leading players in the sector, many of whom visited the FS Group booth, downloaded the information material and requested further information.
