Also this year, from 18 to 20 October, the FS Italiane Group will take part in Maker Faire Rome, an initiative that unites technology enthusiasts, digital artisans, schools, universities, educators, along with research centres and businesses.
Over the years, the Faire has become the most important event in Europe dedicated to technological innovation. 105,000 people attended the sixth edition, with 700 projects on display, 375 conferences, live talks, workshops and training activities, whilst 27,000 students took part in the “Educational Day” (the special free preview on the first day reserved for students) and 18,000 children hosted in the Kids’ Area.
The FS Italiane Group will be present at Maker Faire with a dedicated space that will allow visitors to experience a journey through the world of high speed. For the occasion, FS Italiane intends to celebrate 10 years of High Speed—the most important infrastructural project realised in Italy since the post-war period after the A1 Milan-Naples motorway. Within the FS Italiane space, visitors to the Faire can delve into the world of High Speed, discovering its latest-generation infrastructure and technology.
The themes of the 2019 edition will be: robotics and artificial intelligence; circular economy; Internet of Things (IoT); digital manufacturing; foodtech; agritech; urbantech; smart mobility; technologies for sport and health; sustainable construction; plus virtual and augmented reality.
As part of the initiative, on 5 and 6 October in Naples, Trenitalia will be the protagonist of the Hackathon SMAQ - Smart & Quick event dedicated to innovation and the Internet of Things, with a challenge focused on sales systems to intercept innovative ideas and projects.
