Andrea Esposito, a civil engineer specialising in the transport sector, has spent most of his career in the railway industry, holding positions of increasing responsibility within the FS Group.
He joined Rete Ferroviaria Italiana in 2002 and began his career in the Investment Department, working on feasibility studies and projects for high-speed/high-capacity railways.
He subsequently worked on the Brenner Base Tunnel project, overseeing studies on traffic, railway infrastructure, interoperability and relations with international institutions and partners.
Whilst at RFI, he gained extensive experience in the fields of safety, planning, operations and infrastructure management, working in various regions across the national network. Having previously led the commercial and operational structures for the Central and Southern Tyrrhenian regions, since 2018 he has coordinated and supervised rail operations across the entire network, with a particular focus on emergency management, service quality and stakeholder relations.
Since January 2024, he has been the Director of Industrial Planning and Control at RFI responsible for integrating the needs of the business departments and ensuring that business plans are consistent with the company’s strategic and industrial objectives.
