Gianpiero Strisciuglio
FS Italiane Group Chief Executive Officer and General Director appointed on 13 July 2026.
Gianpiero Strisciuglio graduated with honours in Transport Engineering from the Polytechnic of Bari, then obtained a Master's degree in Naples’ Parthenope University, and has been a member of the National Council of Engineers since 2001.
From March 2025 to July 2026, he served as Trenitalia’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, focusing on innovation and fleet modernisation, especially with the launch of the new-generation Frecciarossa 1000 - more technologically advanced and sustainable.
From May 2023 to March 2025, he served as Rete Ferroviaria Italiana’s Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, focusing on implementing NRRP Plan measures on railway network modernisation.
In April 2022, he was appointed Managing Director and General Manager of Mercitalia Logistics S.p.A. (now FS Logistix), position he will hold until May 2023.
From 2018 to April 2022, he held the position of Director of Strategy, Industrial Planning, Innovation & Sustainability at Mercitalia Logistics.
From 2017 to 2018, he was responsible for Trenitalia Long Haul Passenger Division.
From 2014 to 2017, he was Rete Ferroviaria Italiana’s Commercial and Operations Director. From 2013 to 2014, he was responsible for Rete Ferroviaria Italiana Service Planning and Development.
During his time with FS Group, he has developed a solid cross-sector expertise in strategic railway assets, and helped one of the country’s largest industrial groups grow.
Among his other roles, he served as Extraordinary Commissioner for the Rome Ring Railway.
He is currently Chairperson of AGENS (Agenzia Confederale dei Trasporti e Servizi), an affiliate of Confindustria, and Chairperson of CIFI (Collegio Ingegneri Ferroviari Italiani e Vicepresidente di Federturismo Confindustria).
