Work starts on the rail link to Venice airport

By December 2025, a new line will connect Venice airport to Italy’s national railway network, optimising train-air intermodality in preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, an event that will increase tourist flows in the Veneto region. The new “Venice - Airport” station will be built at Venice Marco Polo Airport and will have two underground platforms connected to the airport terminal.

The project, among the many outlined in our 2022-2031 Industrial Plan, is part of the Cantieri Parlanti Project, an initiative of the FS Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the companies involved in the works and the Extraordinary Government Commissariat, which aims to engage with citizens and stakeholders in a simple, transparent and immediate way, to tell the story and mission of the construction sites and raise public awareness in the region of the importance of the ongoing works.
