Anas International Enterprise S.p.A. is an integrated engineering services company, its capital being entirely held by Anas (part of the FS Italiane Group), which since 2012 has been operating on international markets and in particular in the Persian Gulf, as has Italferr.
In September 2012, following the success of Anas in an international tender, a contract was signed with the Authority for Public Works in Qatar for professional Quality Control & Quality Assurance services, for road surfaces, for a planned period of 60 months. In October 2017 the contract was extended for 18 months.
The principal objective of the consultancy contract is to monitor quality standards on the entire road network being developed in this country on the Arabian Peninsula, in which the terrain includes arid desert and a long coastline of beaches and dunes. The contract covers 10 technical tasks, ranging from the development of an Audit manual (Quality Management and Quality Assurance) to the creation of a system for the training and certification of staff involved in the construction of road surfaces.
Italferr projects are simultaneously underway in the same region: since June 2013, our engineering company has been drawing up the detailed planning for the Doha Metropolitan Red Line which will connect New Doha International Airport (NDIA) in the West Bay Area with the centre of the capital.
Italferr is responsible for planning the route, managing RAMS, Value Management Engineering, System Assurance Management, Requirements Management and Interface Management.
Since January 2014, Italferr has also been involved in planning for all MEP (Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing) installation at stations, this work being conducted under the new BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology. These activities began in June 2013 and will finish next month.
Together with other leading businesses in the sector, Italferr has also been awarded the contract for Project Management Consultancy Services and technical assistance for works on the tramway network for Lusail, a city 15 kilometres away from the capital of Qatar, Doha. The works comprise the execution of civil engineering works, setting up technological and plant systems, maintenance facilities, and supplying rolling stock for service on the 4 planned lines, a total of 38 km, including 10 in tunnels and 37 stations. Work began in May 2016 for a period of 51 months.
With our engineering companies we intend to export our integrated services in the transport infrastructure sector abroad, one of the jewels in our Group’s crown and one of the main pillars of our 2017 - 2026 Industrial Plan.
