The seventh edition of the Frecciarosa project, the campaign in trains and stations that promotes women's health, breast cancer prevention and a healthy lifestyle, started on 3 October.
The initiative, promoted by the FS Italiane Group and by the IncontraDonna non-profit association, under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, supports the culture of healthy lifestyles to combat breast cancer and papilloma virus, starting from correct prevention, also through on-board train assistance and information for travellers.
From Tuesday 3 to Friday 20 October, specialised doctors will be available on-board selected Freccia trains for advice, free examinations and advice on prevention. Health Guidebooks will also be handed out, with advice and recommendations on prevention, suggestions for healthy eating habits and lifestyles. The initiative will also be available in the FrecciaClub at Rome Termini and Milan Centrale stations at the Frecciarosa desk, staffed by the IncontraDonna non-profit association.
Frecciarosa also extends to women who turn to the Help Centers with an experimental initiative involving volunteer doctors from IncontraDonna. For the first time this year, at the Help Centers in Santa Maria Novella (24 October), Rome Termini (26 October) and Naples Centrale (27 October), free breast examinations and advice will be available.
Users will be informed about prevention and prepared for the examination by operators, which often involves overcoming solid barriers of fear, mistrust, and lack of self-care.
Selected trains will be attended by volunteers who can tell and share their experiences with the disease and the importance of prevention. Over the years, Frecciarosa has given many people an opportunity to get involved, with important results regarding the prevention and, in many cases, the treatment of tumours.
Promoting women's health is a priority for our country, because improving women's health is a condition and stimulus for improving the quality of life for the entire community.
