Pigneto Junction

The project involves the construction of a new Pigneto interchange stop between the Orte – Rome – Fiumicino Airport (FL1) and Rome – Viterbo (FL3) regional lines, and a new station in the Mandrione urban area serving the Rome–Castelli (FL4) and Rome–Cassino (FL6) regional lines, as well as a connection between these and Line C of the Rome Underground. The new junction will serve passengers who travel to and from the capital every day.

The Pigneto junction has received partial public funding, including through NRRP funds.

With effect from 12 March 2026, the date on which Decree-Law No. 36 (published in the Official Gazette No. 58 of 11 March 2026) came into force, in accordance with Article 5 of that decree, the Chief Executive Officer of RFI SpA has taken over from the previously appointed Extraordinary Commissioners.
