The Termoli-Lesina railway two-track expansion project completes the programme for the doubling of the Adriatic line along the Pescara-Bari section.
The project involves the construction of a double track with a total length of approximately 33 km, divided into two functional sections: the first, Ripalta–Lesina, with a length of approximately 8 km running parallel to the existing track, and the second, Termoli - Ripalta, covering a distance of approximately 25 km, part of which runs on a new variant and part alongside the existing track.
The Pescara – Bari project is fully funded, including through NRRP funds.
With effect from 12 March 2026, the date on which Decree-Law No. 36 (published in the Official Gazette No. 58 of 11 March 2026) came into force, in accordance with Article 5 of that decree, the Chief Executive Officer of RFI SpA has taken over from the previously appointed Extraordinary Commissioners.
