Marseilles, 13 June 2025
From Sunday 15 June, new Frecciarossa connections between Paris and Marseilles kicked off.
Trenitalia France, a Trenitalia (FS Group) company operating on the French market, is getting ready to launch eight connections between the two French cities, four in each direction.
The route is part of the broader project to strengthen sustainable mobility in France, in addition to the four daily connections between Milan and Paris and the eight daily connections between Paris and Lyon.
'The new Paris-Marseilles route further expands Frecciarossa’s network in France, meeting the needs of those seeking a fast, comfortable and more environmentally-friendly way of travelling. Trenitalia France's offer will increasingly meet the needs of those who choose train travel for work, study, leisure and tourism' - stressed Marco Caposciutti, CEO of Trenitalia France.
The 3-hour and 20-minute journey links the French capital, with departure from Paris-Gare-de-Lyon, and Marseille, arriving at Saint-Charles station, with intermediate stops at Lyon Saint-Exupéry, Avignon TGV and Aix-en-Provence TGV stations. The first departure from Paris is scheduled at 5:54 am and the last at 7:03 pm. The first departure from Marseille is scheduled at 6.52 am and the last at 6.49 pm.
The Paris-Marseille route falls within a broader expansion strategy, part of FS Italiane Group's 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, aimed at increasing the Group's presence abroad, and expand the already EUR 3 billion turnover and 12K employees. In particular, Trenitalia France recorded a 40% increase in the number of passengers in 2024, a sign that the entry of a new operator promotes train usage.
Thanks to Frecciarossa’s quality of service, which offers several classes, Trenitalia provides a consistent travel experience throughout the French network. As with the Paris-Lyon and Paris-Milan lines, travellers on the new Paris-Marseille line will benefit from a transparent and flexible pricing policy.
Tickets can be purchased on the website trenitalia.com, via the Trenitalia France app, in ticket offices and self-service ticket machines.
