From Pescara to Jesi aboard a Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group) regional Pop train.

The Trofeo Senza Fine (translating to the “Never-ending Trophy”) that will be presented to the 2022 Giro d’Italia winner will travel tomorrow on a Pop train adorned in pink in honour of the oldest and most prestigious Italian cycling race.

The extraordinary train set up for the tenth leg of the 105th edition of the Giro shall depart from Pescara.

The convoy will then arrive in San Benedetto del Tronto at 1:15 p.m. before departing at 1:55 p.m. for Jesi, where it will arrive at 3:55 p.m.

Making everyone feel right at home – or rather, on the train – will be Trenitalia’s Regional Sales Director, Ermanno Russo, and Regional Director for Le Marche, Fausto Del Rosso.

Also on board, Guido Castelli, Regional Transport Councillor, and for RCS, Luigi Re.

Transporting the Trofeo is just one of Trenitalia’s initiatives for the Giro d'Italia, of which the transport company is this year's Official Green Carrier.

For the third year running, the FS Italiane Group supports the great Italian cycling season, in the conviction that the values of sport go hand-in-hand with the enhancement of the territory and sustainability. For the second year running, Trenitalia is also a sponsor of the Ride Green Jersey awarded to the winner of the Team Time Trial classification. Trenitalia is even present in all Giro d’Italia villages, with a stand at the start and finish of the various legs.

Also this year, Trenitalia is taking part with its team of cyclists in the Giro-E, the eco-sustainable event dedicated to electric bicycles that takes place parallel to the Corsa Rosa and offers fans of cycling the chance to enjoy a thrilling experience, riding part of the route of the professional race. The big development for the Giro-E in 2022 is the EXPO-E Village, exclusively present in the cities of Catania (held in Piazza Duomo on 8 and 9 May), Naples (Mostra d'Oltre Mare, 14 May), Turin (Parco del Valentino, 21 May) and Verona (Fiera, 29 May).

In the region of Le Marche, 4 Trenitalia Pop trains have already hit the tracks, with another 9 double-decker Rock trains to be added by 2025, in addition to the 2 already in circulation, along with 8 new medium-capacity trains.

For lovers of bicycles – which travel free on regional trains in Le Marche – Trenitalia has also dedicated a travel guide on cycle routes, with 20 proposals for an equal number of cycle routes within reach of the station. Each itinerary is accompanied by photographs, maps, routes, tourist information and a few curious facts.
