Telling the story of places, people, crafts, economic activity and food and wine from Italy, taking their cue from a regional train trip from Trenitalia. That's the aim of the "Il viaggio sta cambiando" (“The journey is changing”) contest, which is for filmmakers aged between 18 and 35 and which has been launched by Trenitalia in collaboration with Fuoricinema, the Milan cinema festival (14th-17th September 2017).
The project is for a screenplay to be written for a short film (maximum length, five minutes), in which one's own region is described. The train has to be a fundamental element of the narration, but music will also have an important role. The soundtrack must been inspired by the regional Trenitalia trains, Swing and Jazz. The language, rhythm and visual style must be thought of primarily for being shown on the web.
The three best screenplays will be awarded a prize on the stage at Fuoricinema, after having been picked by the artistic direction of the show (Gabriele Salvatores, Cristiana Capotondi, Gino&Michele, Lionello Cerri and Cristiana Mainardi), together with a representative from Trenitalia.
At stake there is an annual regional season ticket from Trenitalia, valid in the region shown by the winner, and two vouchers (200 euros each) to travel on the Frecce trains or on long-distance trains.
The expiry date for sending material is 10th September 2017. More information is available at fuoricinema.com.
