The FS Group supports the 26th edition of Race for the Cure, the largest event to fight breast cancer in Italy and worldwide, promoted by Komen Italia. An event focusing on sport, health and solidarity to raise awareness of the importance of prevention and research, and to support the 56,000 women in Italy who face this disease every year.
For over 10 years, the FS Group has stood by Komen Italia at its flagship event, with active and heartfelt participation from its people. And this year, the Group women and men will be part again of the travelling charity race, contributing to fund-raising, with a presence that is confirmed as one of the most numerous.
The 2025 edition of Race for the Cure will kick off in Rome (8-11 May), then move on to Bari (16-18 May), and then Bologna (19-21 September). At the end of September, the race will reach simultaneously Brescia and Matera (26-28 September). In October, it will reach Campania, with a travelling Race that will touch several cities: starting in Salerno (4-5 October), then on to Caserta (10-12 October), then on to Benevento and Capua (18-19 October), and finally ending in Naples (24-26 October).
FS Group, at the heart of the national mobility system, plays a key role in the country’s development, promoting the integration of infrastructure, sustainable transport and the Italian civil, social and cultural fabric. With around 97,000 employees, 10,000 trains per day, more than 700 million train and bus passengers per year, and over 22 billion tonne-kilometres of freight transported, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane is a key player in collective mobility. The railway infrastructure extends over 17,000 km, 1,000 km of which dedicated to High-Speed/High-Capacity services, while the road network managed by the Group covers about 32,000 km.
The partnership - confirming the FS Group's consolidated commitment to supporting Race for the Cure, includes the presentation of a special prize dedicated to scientific research. In addition, promotion and awareness-raising activities are planned, conveyed both through the on-board monitors of Trenitalia's Frecce and Regionale trains and through FS Group's media channels.
By supporting Race for the Cure, FS Italiane confirms its commitment to important events that focus on prevention, solidarity and good lifestyles, a virtuous example of how companies can contribute positively to health care and the fight against breast cancer in Italy and around the world.
