On the cover is the Neapolitan actress, as the face of the 78th edition of the Venice Film Festival

Rome, 2 September 2021

Art, photography, fashion, food and wine, nature. Thus, September’s La Freccia accompanies passengers towards autumn. First stop is the 78th Venice Film Festival, with the cover dedicated to actress Serena Rossi, as the face of the event.

We remain in the Lagoon for the presentation of the latest Made in Italy couture from Dolce&Gabbana, created in collaboration with the country’s artisan excellences. The second stop is Parma and its surrounds for the 21st edition of the festival dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi. Next comes Milan for the international fair of MiArt, which returns to being an in-person event, with 145 galleries from over 20 countries. Then there is Florence to admire the drawings of the most famous cartoons [EF1] and shots from the Alinari archives, before heading to Catania for unseen photographs by Gabriele Basilico.

Sicily is also the protagonist of a train journey that touches the extreme points of the island from west to east, to savour baroque cities, the flavours of the south and the crystal-clear sea. To breathe in the air of late summer, rather, set off on foot to discover the Pistoia mountains, an area rich in history, dotted with green oases and lined with spectacular pathways.

After diving in the water to admire the treasures of the Baia Sommersa (Submerged Bay) in the Archaeological Park of the Phlegraean Fields, we set off on a stroll through the olive groves and mills of central Italy, in Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. Not to be forgotten is the trip to Barbagia to reveal the secret of longevity and to the authentic Umbria of Rasiglia, in the province of Perugia, to learn about the participatory cultivation of ancient grains.

September’s La Freccia can be browsed and read in digital format on FSNews and on paper in the FRECCIALounge and FRECCIAClub, with cellophaned individual copies for readers to take away with them.
