Trenitalia: the number of Rock trains on the tracks of Tuscany rises to 8

The eighth Rock train has gone into service on the tracks of Tuscany.

Today in the Florence Santa Maria Novella station, the Councillor for Transport for the Tuscany Region, Stefano Baccelli, and the Tuscany Regional Director of Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group), Marco Trotta, boarded the latest Rock to enter into service, as the eighth to reach Tuscany, this time in the 5-car version that accommodates over 600 seated passengers and comes replete with 9 bicycle spaces, electrical sockets and 50 video surveillance cameras.

Built in Pistoia at the Hitachi Rail site, the vehicle has a 30% reduced energy consumption and uses eco-sustainable materials for increasingly integrated and green mobility.

The service contract with the Tuscany Region foresees the arrival of another 21 Rock trains in the coming years, for a total of 29.
