Rome, 10 December 2021
The FS Italiane Group will be the Title Sponsor of the Final Four of the Women’s Super Cup, the competition which from 5th to 8th January 2022 will decide the winner – at the final scheduled to be played at Frosinone’s Benito Stirpe Stadium – Italian football’s first trophy of the new year.
Professionalism and talent aren’t dictated by gender: this is a continuation of FS Italiane’s commitment to win the game for inclusion through projects, initatives and events that activate the connection, relationship and resources system centred on women’s leadership.
With its support for the Women’s Super Cup and the Women’s Football Division, the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane seeks to make a real contribution to the development of inclusive sport, one in which players represent a symbol of women’s empowerment and leadership in the world of football. With the same approach, FS has for years been present in middle and high schools with the WIM Project to encourage, using the example of its female managers, new generations to take up STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and to see themselves in a technical-scientific career which contributes to Italy’s social innovation.
“The FS Group feels that diversity is a precious resource, a competitive advantage and a challenge to improve oneself,” said the president of the Women’s Football Division, Ludovica Mantovani. "And so we find included in the Title Sponsorship the values represented by our sport, especially promoting players’ education, training and professional development. The group is an exceptional partner for this 25th edition.”
“We are partners of the Women’s Super Cup because we are convinced that the talent which underlies all professionalism doesn’t have a gender.” Those are the words of Massimo Bruno, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at FS Italiane. “Effective equality between men and women exists when the environment is able to recognise and create the conditions to bring out leadership with all its excellence, and in all its manifestations. At FS we do that through promoting concrete tools to improve work-life balance and programmes which encourage the expression of authentic and inclusive leadership styles, thanks to which everybody has the chance to make their contribution to the company.”
The Final Four of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Super Cup will be played at the Benito Stirpe Stadium in Frosinone, and at the Domenico Francioni Stadium in Latina. The teams taking part are Juventus and AC Milan, who finished first and second respectively in the last league championship. Also there will be Roma, as winners of the Coppa Italia, and Sassuolo, who ended the 2020/21 season in third place in Serie A and who are included since AC Milan (finalists in the Coppa Italia) won their place in the competition by finishing second in the league. The Roma-AC Milan semi-final will be played on Wednesday 5 January at 2:30pm in Latina, while Juventus-Sassuolo is scheduled for 5:30 in the Frosinone stadium – which is one of five grounds in Italy to be managed directly by the club itself. The final will be played at the same location on Saturday 8 January at 2:30. The three matches that make up the competition, which is sponsored by the Lazio Regional Government and the municipalities of Frosinone and Latina, will be shown live on TimVision and La7.
