Ancona, 2 October 2020
The commercial service of the new Macerata Università stop sets off on Monday, 5 October.
In collaboration with Regione Marche and University of Macerata, Trenitalia (Gruppo FS Italiane) has drawn up a schedule modelled on the needs of some 3,000 Polo University students.
There will be 16 trains every day, with the first train departing at 8:31 am and the last at 7:16 pm, connecting the Macerata University with Ancona, Fabriano and Civitanova Marche. With this new travel opportunity, students will be able to attend classes in green mode, avoiding the stress of finding a park or the 2-kilometre slog amidst traffic from the central station in Macerata to the University.
The new Macerata Università stop is an important part of a broader investment programme, aimed at strengthening the entire Le Marche railway network with the electrification of all lines, the elimination of level crossings and the promotion of easy intermodal train-bicycle mobility.
