Ferrovie dello Stato Group is committed to Indian railways’ modernization and safety infrastructure enhancement. During the visit in India by the Italian delegation led by the President of the Council of Ministers, Paolo Gentiloni, CEO and COO of the Ferrovie dello Stato Group Renato Mazzoncini, met today in New Delhi the representatives of the Indian Ministry of Railways.
The meeting aims at taking stock of commitments included in the Memorandum of Understanding – MoU, signed together with Indian Railways in January 2017. The document includes the following goals such as to increase the safety level of Indian Railways through a review of management procedures and control of the infrastructure and transport system; the certification of technologies based on SIL4 (Safety Integrity Level 4); the training of personnel in the field of safety.
Italferr, engineering company of FS Italiane led by Carlo Carganico, opened an office in New Delhi in 2016. Among the most important projects that Italferr is carrying out, there is the design and supervision of the Anji Khad Bridge, a 750-meters-long bridge, part of the Udhampur - Srinagar – Baramulla Indian railways.
Moreover, Italferr participates in construction of two lines of Mumbai Metro RailProject (MMRDA) and some sections of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India.
The economic value of Italferr activities in India is € 10 million.
