Last 20 January, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) – being the Indonesian Railways – signed a new broad-spectrum Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The constituent elements of the agreement and key components for the implementation of PT KAI’s railway system/service development programmes are:
The agreement follows a previous MoU that was signed in 2019 with a duration of one year, from which two railway training courses were issued by FS International and focused on Asset Management, attended by 52 Indonesian managers.
The Indonesians’ appreciation of the work done by the FS Group prompted PT KAI to proceed with signing the new agreement, this time lasting three years, without waiting for the end of the Covid-19 global pandemic. The objective is to develop not only new opportunities that could also involve Italferr and Italcertifer, but also new collaborations in the field of training with FS International.
Thus, this new agreement is framed within the fruitful collaboration existing between the two railway enterprises and underlies the contacts that FS International and PT KAI are starting to customise with additional training courses dedicated to Indonesian personnel.
