Trenitalia c2c is the first operator in the UK to launch the PICO4UK electronic ticket issuance system. The new digital platform, which will transform the ticket purchasing experience for British customers, integrates the various sales channels: self-service issuers, ticket offices, websites and apps.
PICO4UK was developed in the UK by replicating Trenitalia’s experience in Italy where PICO has been operating for 7 years, supporting the success of the Frecce trains by allowing customers to avail of a sales system that is modern, fast and easy to use.
“The launch of the new PICO4UK ticketing system is yet another milestone demonstrating our commitment to customers using our services in Great Britain,” underlined Ernesto Sicilia, Managing Director of Trenitalia UK. “PICO4UK will allow UK customers to experience the high quality of the platform already being used by over 10 million passengers in Italy. In February, c2c ranked as the UK’s most punctual rail operator, with a performance rating of 97.7 - the best score since 2015. In December 2018, c2c was awarded the best rail company in the UK. These results confirm the quality of the work of the entire c2c team.”
The PICO4UK system is a key element of Trenitalia UK’s investment plans for c2c, following its acquisition in 2017. PICO4UK will be the only system available to c2c customers for purchasing tickets, managing their accounts in a personalised way and availing of customer service.
The system’s new features will also allow customers to plan and purchase tickets for various transport services on their devices (trains, buses, parking lots), with all the information at hand.
