The 31st General Assembly of the Italy-Japan Business Group (IJBG) took place today in Tokyo, as an interesting opportunity for discussion and collaboration between the business communities of Italy and Japan, with a focus on the most advanced sectors in terms of innovation and industry.

The Italian delegation, comprised of 54 companies, was led by Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Scalfarotto, accompanied by Ambassador Umberto Vattani, Interim President of the IJBG, by the Italian Ambassador in Tokyo, Giorgio Starace, by the President of the ICE Agency, Carlo Maria Ferro, and the Confindustria representative, Stefano Festa Marzotto. The Japanese entrepreneurial delegation was led by Vice Minister of Economy, Shuji Miyamoto, accompanied by the Japanese President of IJBG, Tamotsu Saito, President of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), Kazushige Nobutani and the Japanese Ambassador in Rome, Keiichi Katakami.
For FS Italiane, Giovanni Rocca, Senior Vice President of International Business Promotion, on behalf of CEO Gianfranco Battisti, spoke on the panel dedicated to Smart Cities. In particular, he highlighted the potentially strategic role of the stations as natural hubs of the Smart Cities of the future and of what Italy and the FS Italiane Group specifically are bringing forth in this area.
The enthusiastic participation of Japanese entrepreneurs, far beyond the official number of members in the Business Group, constituted a framework interested in the message conveyed by FS Italiane together with the rich presentations developed during the work of the Assembly.
