Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (FS Italiane Group) has awarded a Framework Agreement tender worth over EUR 733 million for the execution of a maintenance and renewal programme on railway signalling command and control systems. The awarding of the contract is part of RFI's broader investment plan to upgrade the network through actions that will ensure greater infrastructure reliability and improved traffic regularity.
The Framework Agreement will last three years.
The tender, divided into 38 lots, will maximise the coverage of interventions throughout the country.
The activities will consist of interventions to restore systems and facilities following malfunctions, mostly due to damage, weather events or vandalism. The Agreement includes preparatory works for station forecourts, functional to the ERTMS accelerated plan, the technological upgrade of the network's signalling equipment for train spacing, and the renewal of control equipment, cabins and level crossings.
