Rome, 3 December 2025

Queen of downhill skiing, Sofia Goggia is warming up for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, for which FS Italiane Group is a Mobility Premium Partner. She talks about her “devotion to improvement” and her relationship with skiing, a sport that requires constant commitment and constantly developing skills and expertise.

An approach shared by FS Italiane Group, which, in 2025, opened several construction sites across many regions and introduced the new Frecciarossa 1000. Concrete signs for a country that is ready to change its face, while staying true to itself.

December, with its festively decorated squares, is the perfect month to explore Italy: from Turin to Salerno, walking through the streets adorned with Christmas lights, artistic installations, monumental nativity scenes, and video mapping shows. Or follow the Olympic Flame, passing through cities and villages along the 60-stop route leading up to the opening ceremony of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games. Stop in Florence, where old artisan workshops still retain their centuries-old traditions and memories, then on to Rome to discover the places linked to Pier Paolo Pasolini’s memory, 50 years after his death. And finally, in Sant’Agata de’ Goti, in the province of Benevento, taste the Annurca apple from Campania, which has been farmed here for centuries.

This issue features many interviews with leading entertainment and culture figures, from actress Tecla Insolia, star of the film Primavera, out December 25th, to presenter Francesca Fialdini, who published Come fossi una bambola, to address the topic of emotional dependence. And then director Pupi Avati, who, in his book Rinnamorarsi, talks about his happy moments, his love for his wife, and the mistakes and frailties of a lifetime. And Jonathan Canini, a young Tuscan talent touring Italy with the show Vado a vivere con me.

And on an end note, the cultural events. In Rome, an exhibition showcases over 130 ancient Egyptian findings, including sarcophagi, amulets, and everyday objects. Naples celebrates Totò with an exhibition combining previously unseen memorabilia with the poetic recollections of the Neapolitan comedian. In Forlì, a retrospective on Letizia Battaglia showcases the Sicilian photographer’s work through more than 200 images. While Giorgio Armani: Milano, per amore at the Pinacoteca di Brera celebrates the fashion designer and his relationship with the Lombard city.

All this and more in December’s La Freccia, available in digital format on FS Italiane and as take-away print magazine on Trenitalia’s Frecce trains, in the FRECCIALounges and FRECCIAClubs.
