Around 200 students from the 12th grade students of the Naples’ Polotecnico Fermi-Gadda High School took part in an engaging Career Day, focused on training, orientation and discovery of railway sector professions, promoted by the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group.
The initiative took place this morning in Naples, during the first event of “FS in Schools for Milano Cortina 2026”, the meetings programme organised ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games for secondary school students.
During the meeting, Giuseppe Inchingolo, FS’ Chief Corporate Affairs, Communication & Sustainability Officer, explained the partnership between Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group and Milano Cortina 2026 to the students, highlighting the strong convergence between Olympic sports and the Group’s values, with a particular focus on younger generations.
This introduction was followed by Gregorio Paltrinieri’s speech, Olympic swimming champion, who shared his sporting experience, emphasising how sacrifice, commitment and willpower are fundamental to achieve our goals.
Next, Professor Matteo Caroli - Full Professor of International Business Management at Luiss Guido Carli and Dean for Sustainability & Impact at Luiss Business School - presented the results of FS Report on Generation Z, based on a representative sample of 1,000 young people between 14 and 19, aimed at exploring the relationship between younger generations, rail mobility, sports and the labour market.
The initiative ended with a special open day, during which the students took the lecturers on a tour of the Polotecnico's laboratories, presenting the Institute's outstanding features and the educational paths geared towards integrating theory and practical experience.
With “FS in Schools for Milano Cortina 2026”, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group wishes to inspire new generations, through concrete examples and direct testimonies, promoting the Olympic spirit - participation, excellence, sustainability, inclusion, responsibility and change - as fundamental lever for building the Country's future.
