The acceleration pathway of the four startups that won the Train Digital Tourism Experience challenge, launched in March 2021 by Trenitalia, was concluded at the SMAU Napoli 2021.
Indeed, the FS Group company has selected four projects from over 50 startups to have taken up the challenge: to inspire train travel through digital tools.
Thanks to the acceleration programme, which lasted about 12 weeks, it was possible to design a development plan for each startup, with the help of Trenitalia together with Campania New Steel, an incubator at the Innovation Hub in Naples.
Yookye, an Italian startup established in 2018, offers a platform that allows you to find tailor-made travel offerings, created by local experts based on the needs and aspirations of users. Qiibee from Switzerland developed an idea that aims to broaden the loyalty programme, involving a broad range of potential business partners. Then there is VirtuItaly from Italy, which proposed cultural experiences ancillary to travel, using digital technologies. Deduce Data Solutions from Spain, rather, presented a virtual assistant able to inspire travel based on social media trends.
The FS Group mentors worked closely with the innovators, always bearing in mind the goal of providing valuable services to passengers, in a framework of constantly-evolving mobility. Indeed, the challenge came about in a moment of difficulty connected to the travel restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
Trenitalia sought to take up the challenge of a relaunch, together with innovative startups, precisely to imagine solutions capable of stimulating the tourism supply chain, enhancing travel proposals and creating engagement with people.
The acceleration pathways are part of the Open Innovation activities which FS Italiane promotes in order to create co-innovation, in looking externally so as to continuously innovate and thus keep the various businesses of the Group companies competitive and avant-garde.
